Giving Back

One side benefit of being part of such a wonderful community like the Portland, Oregon-area, is the chance to get involved in community service events. I have been lucky enough to meet a wide assortment of talented and motivated people who like to give back to their community. When I can, I also get involved in those events, promote them and will use my blog to highlight some of those events with link information and photos. Time to give-back!

Here are some recent and upcoming events:

We will be taking donations for Washington County Foster Kids, making FREE ID cards for kids/parents, with a professional photographer. So stop by, and get a photo taken and support our local Foster Kids!

- Benefit Dinner & Silent Auction for friend and neighbor, Del Clark, who has brain cancer and his family needs some financial support. The local community wishes to come together and break bread, raise some money, listen to a popular band (Trigger Happy) and support our friend. There will be activities for the kids and so much more. Read about it at the web site, donate online, or buy tickets for the dinner. See you there!

- Relay for Life

- Flourish Pink Phoenix benefit called “Tickled Pink”

- The Wild Cat Haven is having a BIG fund-raising party annually!

- Give N Gobble food drive takes place early-morning on Thanksgiving day. Put that Turkey in, get the sneakers on, and come on down to the high-school to walk/run and donate a bag of food to the Oregon Food Bank. One of my favorite people, Cindy Aggson, is the Race Director and creator of this wonderful, annual event. Her energy alone will make you want to be there! Check out their web site to register.

- Here is a great one from some fabulous ladies: Joy Adventure Club

- Food Bank holiday collection

- Foster kids holiday gift drive
